It likes light shade to full sun, is fast growing resilient tree reaching 15-20 ft. tall, attracting pollinators, butterflies and birds. Drought tolerant requiring low water.

Description

This rare tree is native to the border area of Texas & Mexico & was only cataloged in 1982. A highly ornamental, small, leguminous tree, it bears deliciously scented white pea-like  lowers in clusters of 10 or more early summer. Both the flowers and the wood are strongly vanilla-cinnamon scented. 10’-20’ tall & wide, usually multi-trunked. Golden fall color,  deciduous.
