Tree – Yellow Senna – Cassia corymbosa

$26.00

Cassia corymbosa is a fast-growing shrub or small tree that thrives in full sun and can be easily trained into a compact, canopied form reaching 6 to 10 feet tall. From late summer through winter, it puts on a striking display of large, bright yellow flower clusters that attract butterflies, especially Sulphur butterflies, for which it also serves as a larval host plant. This low-maintenance plant is well-known for its exceptional heat and drought tolerance. In Houston, it is typically evergreen but may suffer damage during extreme cold; however, it resprouts in spring. After flowering, it produces decorative, bean-like seed pods.
